Reporting Issue on August 10th

August 15th, 2008

Hi all,

On Sunday, August 10th we had an issue that affected reporting of eBay Total Sale Amount, Earnings, and EPC in the US, UK, AU, and CA programs. These metrics were double-counted for certain items, so some publishers will see overstated earnings amounts for August 10th. Affected publishers will notice an update in their summary reports on August 18th to reflect the correct amounts, as well as line items in their transaction download report to debit the overstated amounts. These line items will include the eBay Item IDs that correspond to the overstated amounts and will contain August 10th Transaction Dates.

We apologize for any inconvenience this reporting error has caused and thank you for your support of eBay Partner Network!

New Value Based Pricing for eBay US Program

August 1st, 2008

As you may have heard, we’re in the process of implementing a new pricing structure for Active Confirmed Registered User (ACRU) compensation. The new value-based pricing scheme is based on quality, instead of just volume, and will reward affiliates for the amount of quality traffic they drive to eBay advertiser websites. The new value-based pricing system is part of our ongoing effort to reward our best marketing partners and promote trusted commerce on eBay.

Makegood for ACRU tracking issue

July 3rd, 2008

Hi all,

As we mentioned on the discussion boards, we’ve identified an issue affecting the way ACRUs were being attributed to affiliates. When we switched to the eBay Partner Network a small issue was introduced where in certain circumstances ACRUs were not credited to the right affiliate.  Many but not all of our affiliates were affected.  This issue happened only when the user confirmed registration on one day, but did not activate via a bid or BIN until the next day or later.  Please note that this affected ACRU counts on the eBay Partner Network from launch until a fix was put in place on June 15th.  Read the rest of this entry »

Sellers and Merchants as Affiliates

May 22nd, 2008

While many of you reading this blog are already familiar with the new eBay Partner Network, we wanted to remind you that with eBay’s new in-house platform, for most of our programs eBay sellers can be affiliates, too – which of course means sellers and merchants can earn extra money by driving traffic to their own listings as well as other listings on eBay. Migration deadline extended until May 31st

April 25th, 2008

We wanted to thank all our affiliates for your effort in switching your links to the eBay Partner Network. We’re off to a great start and we are happy to report that in the three weeks since launch, more than two thirds of our affiliates’ traffic has already moved over to the new system.

Several of you have asked for a bit more time in migrating your links. Because we know there are some special circumstances that may require this, we have arranged to extend the migration deadline until May 31st. This will apply to Half.com and all eBay countries migrating EXCEPT Belgium, Netherlands, Hong Kong, and Singapore, which will still expire on April 30th). Read the rest of this entry »
